Bar/Bat Mitzvah

A Bar or Bat Mitzvah can be stressful enough…
Hebrew tutors, party planning & all kinds of stuff.
So what can you do when you’ve got lots on your plate?
Hire others to do the “little” things – you know – delegate.
You’ve got someone arranging flowers, someone decorating,
And now you’ve even got someone to write your candle lighting!
That means there’s one less item you’ll have to worry about,
‘Cause I promise you a great job – of this there’s no doubt!

Grandparent Candle:
This first candle is for my wonderful Grandma B.
One thing I can always count on – she really does love me.
When I spend time with Grandma I consider it a treat.
Great conversations and sleepovers – they really can’t be beat.
When Grandma talks about me, it’s always with such pride.
And guess what she got me for my Bar Mitzvah?
A fancy limo ride!
Grandma, I’m so glad you’re here tonight, and now that I am done,
Won’t you please come join me? Let’s light candle one.

Aunt and Uncle Candle:
This next candle is for a couple newly wed.
It’s for my Aunt Renee and her hubby, Uncle Ned.
A forensic accountant, that’s my Aunt Renee,
And Uncle Ned’s a movie buff -
He just finished a new screenplay!
An independent couple – they march to their own drum,
But that doesn’t matter to me
Because they’re both lots and lots of fun.
I’m so happy that both of you are here to celebrate with me,
And that’s reason enough for them to come light candle three!

Aunt and Uncle Candle:
My Aunt Rene & I are as close as can be,
I nicknamed her “Cutie Pie” when I was just three.
Sleepovers at her house are a dream come true,
We have brownies for breakfast & of course, soda, too.
As for Cousin Jason, we share the same birthday,
And though we’re 10 years apart, he still let’s me get my way.
Uncle Steve married Aunt Helen just this last year,
But “where did Steve’s hair go?” is the real talk around here.
The truth is we all tease but we really don’t care,
‘Cause Steve’s a great guy – with or without, all his hair!
Rene, Steve & Jason, it’s time to make my night,
Please light candle five, & make it shine really bright.
